JANUARY 15th, 1993

Ski Club was AWESOME!! I can't wait till next week. First we had our lesson (beginning) with Greg. We got in a line and side-stepped a few feet up the hill. I stood next to YKW. We scooped snow on our skis and kicked it up into the air. YKW got in trouble for that.

"Now, I don't appreciate that here, OK?" said the lady to YKW.
"Sure." (YKW)

As soon as she turned her back, he kicked up more snow.

"I don't appreciate that, now!" I said.
"I know! Did you hear her? What a nerd!" He said to me!!

We each took turns sliding down the hill towards Greg (the instructor). He said to YKW "You're shaking like a drug addict! Calm down!"

After our lesson we got to ski alone. I stayed with Ryan and YKW. Ryan's butt never left the snow. It was great to see he wasn't good at everything.

"I don't think you wanna come this high." YKW said to me. I looked down.
"You're right. Bye."

After awhile, Mr. Schneider said Ryan, YKW and I could take the ski life to the top of the hill. I rode with Mr. Schneider and Ryan and YKW rode behind us. It was nerve-wracking but fun. Then we swerved down the hill. I went up 4 more times. I didn't see YKW until...

It was a couple minutes to 9:30. We had to be on the bus by then. I couldn't find anyone. But then I saw Ryan and YKW.

"Where's everyone? We gotta go!"
"I don't know, calm down, we got awhile." (YKW)

We watched Ryan slowly packing his bag. YKW grew impatient. "I'm not waiting. Come on!"

I followed him out the door. We walked to the bus stop.

"Wait, shh..." we listened to announcements.
"See, it's only 2nd call." We walked to the driveway. "The bus isn't here yet. Come on." He ran back dropping his gloves. I picked them up as he skidded to a stop. Shoving them in his hand I ran. He ran ahead.

"Thanks."

Back in, Ryan was STILL packing his bag.

"We're going to be left behind, I know it. I know it."
"Go wait by Mrs. Pruchniki!"
"WHERE, WHERE?!"
"Over there!"
"Oh, thank goodness!"

In school, though:

1st period we were hiding YKW's books. He didn't get mad. Mrs. Weigel took away my bouncy ball. Scott was in the hall. I peeked at him.

"Is Scott out there?" (YKW)
"No, he ran away." (me)
"Shut up!"

6th period YKW was passing out posters.

"Wilderbeast!" he handed me mind.
"The one and only!" I took it.

While we were waiting in the cafeteria for Ski Club, YKW kept looking at me. ? Every time I'd look at him, he'd be looking back. ??

JANUARY 15th, 1994

I slept at GIRL's. Her parents are mean and fight a lot. We talked to BOY on the phone until 11:30. Mostly he talked to GIRL while I listened, pretending to be asleep.

JANUARY 15th, 1996

It was hell at work today. They stuck me at Kid Check for "a second" which lasted 2 hours. I was supposed to be Chuck E. but since I was "busy" they had the new girl Nicole do it. The line to get in was out the door. Later I had fun working with Steve Schleigh cutting pizzas.

When I got home BOY called. We were talking fine and then he just said:

"This isn't working out."
"What isn't?"
"This friendship."

So basically he dumped me as a friend and hung up in a huff. ??
